Coalition for App Fairness Statement on State Attorneys General Lawsuit Against Google

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, Meghan DiMuzio, executive director for The Coalition for App Fairness (CAF), released the following statement regarding the attorneys general’s lawsuit against Google:

“We welcome the attorneys general’s lawsuit against Google and are encouraged by the robust bipartisan support for this effort. App stores have been given a free pass to abuse their dominant market position for far too long. Their anti-competitive policies stifle innovation, inhibit consumer freedom, inflate costs, and limit transparent communication between developers and their customers. We support these attorneys general’s efforts to enforce fairness in the app marketplace and urge lawmakers and regulators to find solutions that level the playing field for developers and provide consumers with more choices.”
