Coalition for App Fairness Celebrates Verdict in Epic v. Google Trial

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rick VanMeter, Executive Director of the Coalition for App Fairness (CAF) released the following statement on the verdict in Epic v. Google:

“Today’s verdict represents a resounding victory in the fight for a fair and competitive mobile app ecosystem.

“But there is more to do to ensure there are comprehensive legislative solutions to open all mobile app stores at global scale. Consumers and app developers pay billions because Apple and Google have unchecked monopoly power. Jurisdictions like the EU and the UK are well on their way to implementing legislation to promote innovation and protect consumers. The U.S. Congress must now act to stop this illegal conduct from further harming American consumers.”
