CAF Statement on IPPR Call to Strengthen CMA, Tackle Apple and Google App Store Duopoly

London, UK— Today, the Coalition for App Fairness (CAF), released the following statement in response to the IPPR’s report recommending UK government strengthen the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to create fairer, more dynamic digital markets.

“Today’s report underscores the benefits of strong enforcement of the DMCC Act to rein in Apple and Google’s anticompetitive mobile app store practices. Greater competition in the mobile app ecosystem could generate over £10 billion in savings for UK developers throughout this Parliament — supercharging innovation, fuelling local investment, and delivering a better deal for consumers.”
