Coalition for App Fairness Releases Statement In Support of European Commission’s Statement of Objections

WASHINGTON, D.C. AND BRUSSELS –  The Coalition for App Fairness released the following statement in response to the European Commission’s Statement of Objections against Apple:

“We welcome the European Commission’s Statement of Objections as an important step in curbing Apple’s harmful behavior. These anticompetitive practices hurt European consumers, app developers, and entrepreneurs and underscore the need for App Store Principles.  Sound guardrails will prevent monopolistic gatekeepers from controlling consumer access, self-preferencing, and charging exorbitant fees.  We strongly support the European Commission’s investigation to protect European consumers and ensure all companies have the opportunity to innovate in a fair market.”

–  Meghan DiMuzio, Executive Director for the Coalition for App Fairness
