An update from Coalition for App Fairness executive director Meghan DiMuzio

For the last year, I have had the incredible privilege of serving as executive director of the Coalition for App Fairness. Alongside app developers large and small, I’ve had a front row seat to the issues in the app economy and the advocacy efforts to solve them. Taking on major tech platform monopolies is no small feat, and I’ve been inspired by the developer community around the world rallying together for change.

I wanted to share that after a wonderful tenure at CAF, I am moving on to other opportunities. Our stellar team will remain the same and continue all the great work that we have started. Hannah Ricketts will remain CAF’s deputy director and Francesca McCrary will continue to lead U.S. government relations for the coalition. And I’m excited to let you know that CAF’s new executive director will be Rick VanMeter, who has led CAF’s messaging and media relations efforts for the last year. I can’t wait to see how the coalition grows under his leadership.

From introducing bipartisan legislation to promote competition in app stores in the U.S., to passing the world’s first law addressing anti-competitive app store practices in South Korea and advocating for developers as the European Union works toward passing the Digital Markets Act, we’ve made incredible progress – and I know there is so much more to come as we continue the fight to #OpenTheAppStores.

It has been an honor to work with each of you, and I will continue to cheer you on as you make the digital economy better for developers and consumers.

Sincerely,

Meghan DiMuzio
