Digital Markets Act: Europe’s Digital Competitiveness at Stake

The Digital Markets Act is made to benefit businesses and consumers in Europe and around the world. Unfortunately, more than nine months after its implementation deadline, some gatekeepers continue to circumvent the law.

CAF has signed the below letter calling for decisive enforcement of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), together with a broad group of associations, businesses, civil society organisations and developers.

The letter urges the European Commission to take swift action against non-compliant gatekeepers and uphold the principles of fair competition and innovation.

“This letter underscores the critical need for the European Commission to enforce the Digital Markets Act against gatekeepers who undermine its intent. Without decisive action, Europe risks losing its position as a global leader in innovation, competitiveness, and digital fairness,” said Gene Burrus, Chief Policy Counsel for Coalition for App Fairness.
