Coalition for App Fairness Statement on Apple Heaping Additional Fees on European Developers and Consumers

BRUSSELS – Today The Coalition for App Fairness (CAF), released the following statement after Apple made changes to app distribution in the European Union, adding a new fee for App Store Link Outs and further complicating the digital landscape for European developers and consumers.

“With the introduction of yet another confusing, arbitrary, and expensive fee structure, Apple continues to evade compliance and make the digital landscape in Europe more complicated for developers and more costly for consumers. It appears these new fee structures are yet another blatant move by Apple to retain their market power. As we complete a full analysis of these new terms, developers and consumers beware: do not fall for Apple’s false promises of lower fees.”
