BRASÍLIA, BRAZIL – Today, The Coalition for App Fairness (CAF), released the following statement in response to Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) new investigation into Google’s anticompetitive practices on the Google Play store.
“With this new investigation, CADE is doubling down on their commitment to creating a competitive digital economy. Brazilian developers currently have no choice but to live by terms and conditions that Google forces upon them, which hampers innovation and limits consumer freedom. By launching a second investigation into abusive app store practices, CADE is taking meaningful steps to protect Brazilian consumers from the harms of mobile app monopolists’ anticompetitive behavior. We are committed to supporting Brazil’s efforts to create a truly fair, competitive mobile app marketplace.”
